Job Description

Job Title:  RN Nurse Manager – Redding, CA

Job Summary:  The RN is responsible for the skilled nursing management, parent relations, community relations and quality control of client care. The Registered Nurse is available on the premises or accessible by phone when clients are receiving services unless another registered nurse is on duty.

The RN provides skilled nursing care including assessments, care plan management, medication administration (working the on the floor when LVN is not available) and skilled nursing interventions listed on clients plan of care. In addition to their skilled nursing duties, the registered nurse will be tasked with some facility management, parent communication, client scheduling, training and management of the pediatric care team.

Ridgeline Pediatric, as a state licensed Pediatric Day Health Center, has a mission to promote the physical, developmental and social well-being of children with specialized health care needs and their families. The Director of Nursing must demonstrate leadership skills and autonomy with sound judgment regarding medical interventions in fulfilling this mission.

Facility Hours: Facility operating hours are M-F 8 AM – 6 PM. Open some weekends for 24-hour respite care. Closed most Sundays & all major holidays.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Current California Registered Nurse license.

2. Minimum associate’s degree in nursing. A bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field preferred. New Grads welcome to apply.

3. At least 2 verifiable references.

4. Clear criminal background check and finger print clearance.

5. Successful completion of a competency evaluation program.

6. Two to five years of RN experience with some small team leadership experience preferred.

7. 1-year direct pediatric client care experience preferred.

8. Ability to lift, carry, bend, walk and reach as needed to perform client care and/or transfer of client up to 50 lbs.

9. Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, clients, physicians and the general public

10.  A health examination within 90 days prior to employment or within 7 days after employment that demonstrate no infectious diseases.

11.  Current TB Test.

12.  Current CPR certificate

13.  A valid California Driver’s license and evidence of insurance when/if travel is required.

14.  Reliable transportation between our three facilities in Redding.

 

Job Description:

  1. Full-Time, up to 5 days a week and occasional on call duties.
  2. 8 hour shifts mainly from 8-5 Monday-Friday with occasional overnights and weekends.
  3. Willing to be available for on-call duties (within 30 minutes of the facilities while on call).
  4. Supervise and provide direct care services to pediatric clients with special health care needs.
  5. Turn and position clients in a wheelchair or bed.
  6. Assist with transfers and ambulation.
  7. Feed or assist clients with feedings, prepare meals.
  8. Keep the client care area clean and free of hazards, wash laundry and change linens.
  9. Develop & maintain ongoing client Plans of Care as required for authorization of services.
  10. Assists clients in the participation of independent and group activities.
  11. Must work well in a team environment.
  12. Maintain client confidentiality.
  13. Any tasks and responsibilities to maintain facility operations as deemed necessary for facility operations.

Detailed Tasks:

1. Carry out the mission and vision of facility through training, delegation and example.

2. Work with ownership team to manage personnel to ensure compliance with all regulations, laws and statues as outlined by the Department of Public Health for Pediatric Day Health Centers.

3. Support Facility Administrator with training, guidance, and disciplinary action as necessary based on company policies and guidelines.

4. Work with Facility Administrator to hire and train staff based on need.

5. Update Medication Administration Records (MARS) for each client.

6. Update client flow sheets.

7. Create, update and sign client’s plan of care including 60-day summary.

8. Complete initial assessments of new clients.

9. Obtain current medical records for all clients.

10. Collaborate with other members of the facility team.

11. Obtain new orders from doctor when an order is changed.

12. Oversee Personal Care Attendants.

13. Do daily client assessments.

14. Medication administration.

15. Review all flowsheets, MARS and notes and file.

16. Discuss details of client care plan with outside professionals, OT, PT or other therapists to ensure the highest quality and continuity of care.

17. Educate and encourage sensory diet.

18. Compile TARS for submission to Medi-cal.

19. Understand various local and community services and how they can benefit clients.

20. Be a resource for parents for assistance with supplies, medical questions, appointments, case management, etc.

21. Ensure the client’s Ridgeline schedule meets the families needs and the clients needs.

22. Unconditionally love each person involved with Ridgeline, children, staff, parents, medical professionals, etc.

23. Keep appraised of changes in medical doctors, appointments or diagnosis of each child.

24. Play with clients and build rapport

25. Train and maintain quality of care as it relates to direct client care (G-tube, suctioning, diapers, cleaning of supplies, etc.).

26. Create programs for maintaining client health.

27. Educate clients on safety, health, respect, academics, preschool skills, etc.

 

Compensation

· $44 - $56/hr. DOE
