Medical Assistant/Front Desk Receptionist

Schedule\: This is a full-time role that will work M-F from approximately 8 am – 5 pm.

How you’ll contribute

A Medical Assistant (MA)/Front Desk Receptionist who excels in this role:

  • Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a provider or nurse.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
  • Administers patient injections and takes patient's vitals.
  • Obtains authorization for consults, referrals and procedures and ABN’s per policies.
  • Receives patients, prepares charts and medical records, handles worker's compensation referrals, answers telephones, schedules appointments, collects co-pays and payments on accounts, keeps the front desk, and waiting area neat and organized.
  • Evaluates chart documentation for coding purposes, applies official guidelines, and determines and applies appropriate codes. Document all charges on fee ticket to ensure 100% capture of all charges.

What we’re looking for

  • Education\: Graduation from a certified Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification\: American Heart Association BLS certification required within 60-days of hire.
  • License\: NV Department of Health and Human Services -Office Laboratory Assistant License (requires application submitted upon hire. Status "pending" for up to 6 months).
  • Experience: 1 – 2 years medical office experience preferred. Previous Medical Assistant and front office experience preferred.
  • Other Requirements\: Excellent customer service skills. Typing and grammatical skills. Demonstrates attitude of cooperation and professionalism.
