Job Description

$50.00 - $52.00/hour

Position Summary

The Education Specialist will help ensure the implementation of the out-of-school time curricula by offering facilitators ongoing support and guidance.

Essential Duties

  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate regular curriculum meetings with academic specialists/facilitators, who model best practices and allow group members to reflect on their experience and problem-solve.
  • Conduct regular observations of Academic Specialists and Facilitators at work in their classrooms and provide feedback to improve and strengthen instruction.
  • Review young people’s work on an ongoing basis to assess the engagement level and determine learning needs.
  • Act as a liaison between regular school day, out-of-school time programs, and teachers to ensure program quality.
  • Communicate regularly with the Center or Program Director regarding curricula implementation issues, particularly concerning Academic Specialists’ and group leaders’ materials/supplies needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience providing direct instruction to young people.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Education.
  • Department of Education Teaching Certification

  • Experience using student data to influence instruction techniques and strategies.
  • Experience with lesson plan instruction in a traditional school setting or out-of-school time program.
