Job Description

Job Title: Agile Scrum Master

Location: Remote (Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland only)

Duration: 12 Months

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to support a large-scale program. The Scrum Master will be responsible for guiding teams in Agile practices, facilitating ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills to drive Agile maturity and deliver value effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective).

  • Ensure adherence to the Scrum framework and Agile principles.

  • Identify and remove roadblocks to maintain team progress.

  • Act as a liaison between the team and external stakeholders.

  • Coach and mentor team members in Agile practices.

  • Support the Product Owner in backlog refinement and prioritization.

  • Foster collaboration, effective communication, and a positive team culture.

  • Track and report Agile performance metrics.

  • Shield the team from distractions to maintain delivery focus.

  • Ensure delivery of high-value increments meeting the Definition of Done.

  • Leverage Agile tools (Jira, Trello, etc.) to maintain workflow transparency.

Basic Qualifications
  • Active or ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience on large-scale projects/programs.

  • 5+ years in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodology, artifacts, and lifecycle concepts.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.

  • Hands-on experience with engineering lifecycle frameworks and architectural solutions.

Certifications
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent.

  • Advanced certifications preferred (A-CSM, CSP).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Federal Government project experience.

  • PMI-ACP certification.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft platforms (Power Platform, M365, cloud applications).

  • Expertise with Atlassian suite tools.
